English as an Additional Language (EAL) is provided to all new arrival students at Dandenong South Primary School.

The students in the EAL programs are withdrawn from their classrooms for intensive English Literacy teaching for up to 9 hours per week. The children in the EAL Phase 1 and 2 programs receive intensive tuition and support in the areas of Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing from specialist EAL teachers. The EAL Intensive program also provides much needed support to the newly arrival students, both socially and emotionally in settling into their new school environment.
